Jamestown Has a Pretty Sweet Plan for Your Saturday
October 1, 2026 | by Leigh Ann Akard
What happens when you take a beautiful park, add live music, local vendors, good food, a few friendly animals-and throw in a little friendly competition?
You get the Jamestown Apple Festival.
On Saturday, October 3, Pleasant Acres Nature Park becomes the place to be as Jamestown serves up a full day of music, food, vendors, activities and plenty of reasons to stick around.
Start by wandering through the vendors. Follow the sounds of live music. Grab a hot meal and a cold drink. Stop by the petting zoo with the kids. There’s no complicated itinerary here- come when you want, stay as long as you like and see what you discover.
And if a little competition is more your speed, grab a partner and see if you have what it takes to take home the prize!
Bags, Boards & Bragging Rights
The Jamestown Municipal Park Board is adding a Cornhole Tournament, sponsored by FTIC, to this year’s festival.
Bring your partner and get ready for a double-elimination tournament, played rain or shine. Registration will take place from 11 a.m.-noon, with bags flying at 12:30 p.m. If Mother Nature doesn’t cooperate, the tournament will move indoors.
Entry is $10 per person, and thanks to FTIC, the winning team will walk away with $250-and, of course, some serious bragging rights.
Whether you’re coming to compete or just want to watch the action, it’s one more reason to make a day of it.
Your Saturday Plans Are Set
The best part of the Apple Festival might be that you don’t need much of a plan at all.
Come for the music and stay for lunch. Shop the vendors, visit the animals, cheer on the cornhole teams and spend an afternoon enjoying Jamestown.
And with free festival admission, it’s easy to bring the whole family along.
Stay a Little Longer
The Apple Festival may bring you to Jamestown, but don’t be too quick to head home.
Take some time to enjoy the changing scenery at Pleasant Acres Nature Park, then venture into town and see what’s happening along Jamestown’s growing Main Street. It’s a chance to discover a little more of this Boone County community while enjoying one of the best times of year to explore.
Come for the festival. Stay for the park. Explore Main Street. And discover why Jamestown makes a pretty sweet stop on a fall day in Boone County.
