Savor the Summer: Boone County’s August Lineup is Smoking Hot!(and Still Going Strong!)

July 14, 2025 | by Leigh Ann Akard

Boone County is packing August with exciting events the whole community can enjoy! Whether you’re looking for a night of dancing, mouthwatering BBQ, cultural experiences, live music, or fresh local flavor, there’s something happening every weekend to help you make the most of the summer.

Kick things off with the Zionsville Street Dance on Friday, August 2, hosted by the Zionsville Chamber of Commerce. This lively tradition turns Main Street into a block party with live music, food, drinks, and dancing under the stars. Then, on Friday, August 9, bring your appetite to the Battle of the BBQ, hosted by the Boone County Cancer Society, where top local pitmasters compete in a BBQ fundraiser for a great cause.

The celebration continues with a weekend of rich culture at the Traditional Pow Wow, happening August 16–17, followed by a flavorful finale at Boone County Bites on Friday, August 23, hosted by the Boone County Chamber of Commerce. This popular tasting event features bites from local restaurants, caterers, and vendors in a fun, social setting.

Plus, don’t forget—the summer concert series is still rockin’, and Boone County’s farmers markets are bursting with fresh produce, local goods, and family fun each week. It’s also the final month of the Bite Into Boone campaign, and we’re closing it out with a BBQ theme you won’t want to miss.
