Howard One-Room Schoolhouse
Steeped in Indiana history, Howard Schoolhouse has stood since 1881 as a symbol of education and community. After closing in 1916 and facing near-total ruin while used for grain and equipment storage, the schoolhouse was brought back to life in 2004 by a devoted group of local citizens. Today, it proudly serves as a living history museum, offering visitors of all ages a chance to experience what school life was like in the late 19th century. In addition to its educational purpose, Howard Schoolhouse provides a charming and meaningful setting for a variety of events. From bridal or baby showers, weddings, and family gatherings to fundraisers, celebrations, and public events, this restored piece of Boone County heritage offers a truly unique venue where history and community come together.
