Honoring Boone County, IN Revolutionary War Patriots Wreath-Laying Ceremonies

Discover Boone County, the Daughters of the Revolution James Hill Chapter, Boone County Extension Homemakers, and the Sugar Creek Historical Society are joining together to honor Boone County’s Revolutionary War patriots with a series of wreath-laying ceremonies.

Twenty patriots, who are buried across various cemeteries in Boone County, will be individually recognized in these respectful events. These wreath-laying ceremonies are part of the broader America 250 initiative, commemorating the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States. As communities across the nation prepare to celebrate this historic milestone, Boone County’s events pay tribute to the local patriots whose sacrifices laid the foundation for the freedoms Americans enjoy today.

We will be honoring three patriots at two different locations on April 14, 2026. We will be honoring Jesse Robertson and Arthur Andrews at the Hopewell Cemetery and then honoring John Roberts at the Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
