Brookshire Arboretum

Brookshire Arboretum is a peaceful 10-acre park featuring several mature trees and a quiet natural setting. The land was donated in 1987 by Lebanon resident Ruth Brookshire in memory of her parents, creating a lasting space for reflection and community enjoyment. At the rear of the park is a mound that may have been an ancient burial ground, and several arrowheads have been discovered on the property, pointing to the area’s deep historical significance. The park also includes a drumlin berm, a landform created by glacial movement during the Ice Age. Drumlins are gently sloping, elongated hills formed as glaciers shaped and deposited soil, offering a glimpse into the region’s geological past. Visitors are welcome to enjoy the park’s picnic tables, which are available for use at any time. Brookshire Arboretum offers a unique blend of natural beauty, history, and quiet outdoor space for visitors to explore and appreciate.
