Friday night will have a swap meet for collectors to buy and sell model horses. Saturday will be a model horse show, in which collectors enter their models in competition based on condition and rarity.


Greater Lafayette Kennel Club AKC Fast CAT Trials

Greater Lafayette Kennel Club AKC Fast CAT TrialsApril 27-28

AKC Fast CAT® – which stands for Coursing Ability Test – is a timed 100-yard dash where dogs run one at a time, chasing a lure. The course is completely enclosed by fencing and a mechanical lure encourages a dog to run. Automatic timers measure the dog’s speed which is used for awarding ribbons and titles. To participate in AKC Fast CAT, dogs must be at least 12 months of age, registered with AKC, pre-enter and pay entry fees through our online entry form. GLKC club members host and run this event and are present at all times during the event. Each dog can run up to twice per day for two days, for a total of 4 runs per dog.

May 9th’s Hops and Hounds will take place at Gateway Park.

Join the Village Dance Studio for a magical adventure as their dancers transport you into the Wonderland. In this one-hour dance performance, audience members will follow Alice through the Rabbit hole as she meets all her favorite friends and finds herself in a new world. An engaging and exciting performance for all ages, this shortened retelling of the well-known book, movie, and ballet is sure to delight. Tickets are general admission. Make sure to stop in the lobby before or after the show to pick up some flowers, snap a picture in the photo booth, and more. A cookie reception in the commons will follow the Sunday performance in celebration of Mother’s Day.

This annual Native American cultural event is centered on education and community involvement. The event will have speakers who will be speaking on Native cultural history as well as current modern Native lifestyle. There will also be Native singing,
dancing, and crafts. Attendees will have the opportunity to try Native foods, participate in raffles to win Native crafts, visit Native vendors who sell both Native and non-Native made crafts and craft supplies, as well as participate in the singing and dancing. This is a free, family friendly event.

A fun, historical, and educational event for the whole family! Come and visit some of the best merchants in 18th century reenacting. Demonstrators and craftsmen from across the midwest will be displaying their wares for sale. Military and militia units will be camping in the park to teach the public about the life a soldier with battle reenactments scheduled over the weekend. They also have jugglers, street performers, magic, and musical entertainment to enjoy as you eat food and dive into the past.
